Ideas are dangerous.
That’s the conventional wisdom. Some ideas are so dangerous that they can’t be aired, discussed or even contemplated.
It’s nonsense.
For example, the recent Islamist attacks France, in Paris and Nice: people killing to defend their way of life.
And yet the United States launches drone attacks every day. Americans may kill to defend their way of life, but Islamists can’t?
We’re not even allowed to entertain that thought.
Today I published an article about the presidential election. I had to neuter two paragraphs that suggested maybe, just maybe, the current administration had lost its mind. Even suggesting that Trump was unhinged would have offended half my readership, and that was not allowed. (Paging Glenn Greenwald.)
That’s a dangerous idea.
I am a curator of dangerous ideas.
I am anonymous.
Because who I am isn’t as interesting as the dangerous ideas I’m going to broadcast.
